Frequently Asked Questions

Who needs therapy?

Therapy is a service that is available to all. You do not need to be in an immediate crisis to warrant care. At PsychTherapy Travels, telehealth services are offered for those experiencing significant symptoms that are impacting functioning and quality of life. If you think you are too complex or difficult a case, reach out to request a free 15 minute consultation to see if PsychTherapy Travels can meet your needs. What you might consider hopeless is likely something psychologists are trained to work with everyday.

Some situations do require a higher level of care. PsychTherapy Travels is not a good fit if you are experiencing more severe mental health conditions, such as active and untreated psychosis, severe substance disorders, severe eating disorders, or chronic suicidal ideation. Additionally, PsychTherapy Travels does not conduct psychological or disability evaluations.

If you are experiencing a crisis and need immediate assistance, please visit your local emergency room or call 911.

Do you accept insurance?

PsychTherapy Travels is not an in-network provider with any insurance panels and does not work directly with insurance companies.

If your insurance plan does cover mental health, it is worth finding out how much your plan will cover Out Of Network (OON) providers and their services. Sometimes it can be a significant portion of the cost!

Questions to ask your insurance provider:

Please note that even if your insurance offers to cover mental health services, this may not apply to all services or all diagnoses.

What is a superbill?

A superbill is a document that lists the services you have received from your provider. Your insurance carrier may require you to submit a superbill in order to cover out of network services. You may request a superbill from PsychTherapy Travels, which will be provided at the end of each month. Keep in mind that certain personal health information is provided in this document, including diagnosis.

Please note that even if your insurance offers to cover mental health services, this may not apply to all services or all diagnoses.

What are your fees?

Your initial intake session is $275 and individual 45 minute sessions are $250.

How long will I be in therapy?

The answer to this question is variable. Length of therapy can vary based on a multitude of factors, including presenting problem, treatment plan, financial and time constraints, and personal preference. This is something that will be explored in your initial intake session.

Additionally as therapy progresses, progress is evaluated and it may be determined to end treatment earlier or prolong treatment beyond what was initially discussed. Having this flexibility keeps in line with therapy being fluid and evolving, just as our own personal stories will be.

Regardless of when it ends, I look forward to starting this journey with you.
